It's very much like the game "The Crew." So much so I think it's their version of it. NFS Hot Pursuit is absolutely different. 

The new game is cool but is based on open world events and a LOT of cut scenes and game character chat.

I still prefer playing this game over it by quite a bit. This game is simple to get in the action. The new one takes a lot of work to enjoy.
