I fear that this prospective unit would fall into this same effective role of being a line-backing unit to an already existing Tank wall, Like Mines, Grinder, T99, SAM or Jumper, and pre-nerf Bucky, or be a sort of "whittle" type unit, that is used to pick holes in the enemy's wall over time, such as artillery, or buster, in how they are used practically. With where the game stands currently, Tanks are required to make an anti-tank unit work, because the weaknesses of the Anti-tank unit, as well as every other type unit, make Tanks necessary to deploy.
Anti-Tank units are too weak, either mechanically, or physically, to compose the entirety of a push or a defense, and there exist no other units, besides tanks, that can sustain against the enemy for long enough to allow anti-tank units to do their jobs successfully.
